• Sources must be cited when writing informational articles

• Names of school and community members may not be used unless given permission by that person 

  • This does not apply if you are referencing a public record where their name is already included

• Expressions of opinion should be responsible, balanced, and well-researched

  • Criticism targeting an individual student or staff member will not be published

  • Criticism targeting a specific demographic (gender, race, sexual orientation, etc.) will also not be published

• The use of profanity, vulgar language, slang, or obscenities is prohibited

• Articles containing plagiarism will be sent back immediately 

• Articles may be submitted with or without your name attached

  • If you choose to remain anonymous, you must still include a method of contact in case changes need to be made

• Ultimately, articles will be published at Journalism Club’s discretion

If a piece fails to meet these guidelines, the Journalism Club will either attempt to edit the submission and send it back for confirmation or send it back and request the piece be rewritten.
